After much speculation, Channel 4 is soon to be renaming itself 'Channel Carr'. Head of Channel 4, Frank Sidebottom, famous for his huge papier mache head and whiney nasal Manc accent, confirmed reports yesterday saying, "As a mark of respect for the great comedian Jimmy Carr, we can proudly announce the station will now be known as Channel Carr."

When Carr heard the news, the dead pan comic quipped, "Well it's about time they named the channel after me", before jetting off to Leeds to appear in dictionary corner on Countdown.
